Why is Wordle so good for you?
My parents wordle daily. They do it separately – in different rooms, slightly competitively and are certain it’s good for their brain. Having introduced it to me, we even did a family wordle over brunch a few weekends ago. Who knew my parents were such trendsetters but since then, so many people have talked about enjoying spending a few minutes out each day completing wordle. If you haven’t already tried it, take a look here https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle/index.html
What is an anti CEO?
Profit, money, shareholders: these are the priorities of most companies today. But at what cost? In an appeal to corporate leaders worldwide, Chobani founder Hamdi Ulukaya calls for an end to the business playbook of the past — and shares his vision for a new, “anti-CEO playbook” that prioritizes people over profits. “This is the difference between profit and true wealth,” he says. Highly recommend this amazing Ted Talk which it totally in line with CALM values – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGTMSV8QUrs
How can you change a life for £1
I recently met the inspiring Rachel Morris, CEO of The Friends of Derby 500 Club. The club has been set up to help people in need across the city in a timely and effective way. The Club is made up of members who pay just one pound a week which goes towards panel approved subsidies to help people that have been nominated as being in need of support in some way. Have a look at the wonderful and moving ways they have been helping people and details about how you might get involved here https://friendsofderby500club.com
What happens on the Second Mountain?
In Italy, I finally got around to reading this brilliant book by David Brooks. The world tells us that we should pursue our self-interest: career wins, high status, nice things. These are the goals of our first mountain. But at some point in our lives we might find that we’re not interested in what other people tell us to want. We want the things that are truly worth wanting. This is the second mountain. https://www.waterstones.com/book/the-second-mountain/david-brooks/9780141990903
